The Kings District RCMP are investigating an Arson that occurred on a private property off Barr Road in Head of Hillsborough, PEI. The suspect(s) entered a privately owned wood lot by cutting a preform cable used to block the entrance. They accessed the property where they completely burnt a 2008 Ford Ranger, connecting nearby trees and wood. The Arson is believed to have happened between November 8th. 2020 and November 15th. 2020.

On November 1st, 2016, at approximately 8:30 PM, the East Prince RCMP received a report of a structure fire on Route 167 in Tyne Valley. The Tyne Valley, Wellington, Lennox Island and Miscouche Fire Departments responded and extinguished the fire.
The building, which was a total loss, was vacant at the time and there were no injuries reported. The circumstances surrounding the fire are deemed suspicious and the East Prince RCMP in partnership with the Provincial Fire Marshal are currently investigating.

On October 20th, 2016 at approximately 2:30 AM West Prince RCMP responded to a structure Fire at 1385 Buchanan Road in Mount Royal.
The fire is deemed to be suspicious in nature. The O'Leary Fire department responded to the call and put the fire out. RCMP is requesting any information from the public pertaining to cause of this fire.

Possible Arson - O'Leary, PEI

Possible Arson - O'Leary, PEI
On September 23, 2016 at approximately 2:30 a.m. the West Prince RCMP were called to a reported disturbance at a residence in O’Leary.
When police arrived they observed flames inside the home. Police requested the assistance of the O’Leary Fire Department who attended and extinguished the fire. There was extensive damage to the home and a family pet was lost as a result of the blaze. The Provincial Fire Marshal and L Division Police Dog Services attended the scene.
A short time later at 4:37 a.m. in Glenwood, a second structure fire was reported to the West Prince RCMP. The O’Leary Fire Department attended and extinguished the blaze. The abandoned home had no power to it and was a complete loss.
As both investigations are currently on going, no other information will be released at this time. Police are asking the public to contact them if they have information that may assist with the investigations.

Damage to home/Arson - Cherry Hill

Kings District RCMP are investigating the following crime:
A Farm house / cottage property in Cherry Hill (civic 765 Rt 352 )was extensively damaged sometime around June 4th or 5th,
All windows were smashed by the culprits hitting golf balls through them and then they went inside and smashed the interior putting holes in the walls and smashing and breaking the furniture. They even smashed the glass out of the front of the kitchen range. Damage would have been in the thousands of dollars.
On June 16th, the same house was burned to the ground and is a total loss, This matter is being treated as an Arson.
RCMP are also investigating several fires of undetermined origin in the Mt Stewart/ Morell area in the last few months.

Sometime between Saturday Dec. 28th.around 2:00 PM and Monday evening Dec.30th 2014 a cabin located on the McKeena Road behind Brookvale Ski Park burnt to the ground. Cabin is off a seasonal road and is not secured and open to anybody. It is mainly used by the snowmobilers, however there had been no snow this winter yet. Cabin has no electricity and while it has a place to burn wood, because there has been no snow, it has not been used and there was no wood in it to burn yet.

On 19 Nov. 2014 at 11:36 PM Souris RCMP received a report of an abandoned house fire in Midgell on Route 2 near the intersection of the Milburn Road. The home had been abandoned for quite some time.

Structure fire Christopher Cross 2014-10-25

At approx 1930hrs. on Saturday the 25th day of October 2014, the Tignish Fire Department and the West Prince Detachment of the RCMP responded to a report of a structure fire on the Norway Road in Christopher Cross. The building was a detached garage/barn at a seasonal residence and was a total loss. At this time the fire is "undetermined" in origin, but the investigation into the fire is on-going.

Suspicious Fire / Stratford

CRIME OF THE WEEK OCT 20,2014
Stratford RCMP are requesting assistance from the public in relation to a suspicious fire set on the exterior of a residence on Emmalee Drive in Stratford early the morning of October 16, 2014. There were no injuries to the occupants and the fire was extinguished with minimal damage.
Police are asking residents for any information in relation to suspicious vehicles or persons who were in the vicinity of Emmalee Drive and Picton Beete Crescent sometime between 0500 and 0630 hours that morning. This might also include adjacent streets/areas near these locations.

Arson of Abandoned Properties - Kings County

During the month of September there were three unsolved structure fires in the Kings County area:
Abandoned house fire in Albion Cross on 2014-09-06 (23:53 hrs) - total loss
Abandoned Mini Home fire in Forest Hills on 2014-09-07 (17:30 hrs) - total loss
Abandoned House in Byrnes Rd on 2014-09-21 (01:00 hrs)- total loss
Leading up to Halloween RCMP would like to remind the public that the setting of these fires constitute a serious offence under the Criminal Code and those responsible will be charged. This is not a "fun" activity. These properties belong to someone and have value. The burning of them could also result in injuries to those setting them, property owners or firefighters.

Suspected Arson - Stratford

Stratford RCMP are investigating the following: On the night of September 2nd 2014, home owners of a residence on Jane Crescent in Stratford heard a loud bang and looked outside to find that their detached garage was on fire. They were able to put the fire out but it caused damage to the garage and a vehicle inside. RCMP investigation determined the fire to be suspicious. Witnesses observed a dark coloured pick up truck leaving the scene at the time of the fire.

Suspected Arson - Summerside

During the early morning hours of Saturday July 12th,2014 Summerside Police patrol officers responded to a vehicle fire at a vehicle repair business on Macewen Road. The cab of a 1997 Mack CT cube van was completely engulfed by fire upon arrival. Summerside Fire department also responded to put out the fire and saved the rear of the vehicle which contained a substantial amount of property. Arson is suspected and the investigation is continuing

Car Fire - Malpeque Road

Charlottetown Police Services received a call for service at 1:4 9am November 29, 2013 regarding a car fire on Malpeque Road. Charlottetown Fire Department arrived scene and extinguished fire, vehicle sustained extensive damage and was towed from location. Charlottetown Police Services are continuing with their investigation
